So since they have been giving a TON of valuable information for free, I might as well help them out in giving them some suggestions on how to blend there ads in and stuff…

Big image here

ppc.bz

If they did all the stuff I mentioned above then i predict that they will make $188,569 a month off advertisement on there blog.

FTY, I’m just fooling around. That blog was set up as a joke. So was this blog post.

So last time in the ring my buddy Preston lost by tap out. He got nervous and choked out there. This time the guy went out swinging, and did a much better job at kicking ass.

Below is the video, which was my first video that I have made on Premier (which totally kicks ass). You shall expect a lot more videos to come, making this MMA fight video was pretty fun. You can also see another video posted here. Its the same fight but just a different angle.

Also, the social bookmarking sale will be ending tomorrow at 12 noon mountain time. After that I will be making the prices normal. So now is the time to buy.

BuyBookmarks.Net Launches In Beta
September 26th, 2008 by Jon Waraas

You knew I was going to do this. Social bookmarking is one of the best ways to gain quality backlinks to help you rank your website higher in the SERP’s. I personally spend $200-$400 a month on social bookmarks EVERY MONTH. I know… that’s a car payment! But that is how much an impact that social bookmarks make on a website.

So in true Waraas style I am reselling social bookmarks with my website Social Bookmaks. Right now I am selling 2 different package, one is dofollow and nofollow mixed in with each other. I actually use this one a lot because of the traffic (most high traffic social sites are nofollow) and because for the price it is still a good investment. I am also selling just dofollows, which is better for pure SEO.

So why launch it in beta? Well because these last few months I have been working on an automated backend for BuyBlogComments.Com, BuyAnswersLinks.Com, and now BuyBookmarks.Net. And with BuyBookmarks.Net I will be able to test it. Starting Monday I will be implementing a system were customers get a username and password so they can check there current order status and order more packages at a discounted price. The website is also in beta because its not 100% done, I still need to finish the custom package page, some edits to the design, and make a PPC landing page.

Because I want to rejoice the launch of BuyBookmarks.Net I will be having a sale on social bookmarks until Monday morning. After the sale the dofollow/nofollow package will be priced at $17.99, but until Monday I will sell the package for $13.99. As for the dofollow only package, it will be cut from $24.99 to $19.99. 2 Great offers.

Let me know what you guys think, any suggestions?

Other Bloggers Cost Per Reader (CPR)
September 23rd, 2008 by Jon Waraas

Advertisement

My rates haven’t moved for a while now. My 125 banner ads have been at $25 for at least 6 months, and my in-content banner was at $50 a month. Which was pretty cheap for the amount of readers I had. Now since I have a decent amount of readers I have to raise the rates. My 125 banners now sells for $39 a month, and the in-content is now $75 a month, but the nofollow text links will stay the same price of $15 a month.

When I get done editing this design 100% I will be adding another row the the 125 banners. But besides that I want to keep the advertising as slim as possible. I don’t want to turn my blog into a huge advertisement for everyone. Anyways, you probably dont care about this, so I will make it interested. Lets see what other bloggers are charging for ad space per RSS reader…

To calculate the CPR (cost per reader :D ) I simply divided the dollar amount by the readers. Here are my results going from most expensive to least expensive.

NateWhitehill.com
Readers = 1144 readers
125 banner = $150 mo.
Cost Per Reader = $0.13

ZacJohnson.com
Readers = 3919 readers
125 banner = $250 mo.
Cost Per Reader = $0.06

IanFernando.com
Readers = 659 readers
125 banner = $32.20 mo.
Cost Per Reader = $0.05

JonWaraas.com
Readers = 858 readers
125 banner = $39 mo.
Cost Per Reader = $0.05

NickyCakes.com
Readers = 1340 readers
125 banner = $50 mo.
Cost Per Reader = $0.04

TylerCruz.com
Readers = 1709 readers
125 banner = $40 mo.
Cost Per Reader = $0.02

UberAffiliate.com
Readers = 4494 readers
125 banner = $100 mo.
Cost Per Reader = $0.02

JohnChow.com
Readers = 33385 readers
125 banner = $500 mo.
Cost Per Reader = $0.01

Having Your Website In Title Is So 2002
September 20th, 2008 by Jon Waraas

I have been sick all week with strep throat, and it has sucked big balls. I still dont feel 100% better but I am filling a little better since I got some antibiotics. Anyways, here is a little SEO tip for ya. I dont feel like writing too much right now.

I switched all of my sites over from “Webpage Blah - Website” to simply “Webpage blah” about 2 months ago. Since then I have increased traffic on all of my websites. Having just the websites page listed in the title tag has increased my SERPs rankings in google and yahoo. To tell you the truth I’m not 100% sure why that would increase my rankings, maybe has something to do with dublicate title tags?

It has also increased my traffic because it seems to get a better CTR on google search pages. People seem to click the website in Google SERPs when it just has what they are looking for and dosen’t include the website title.

I have also realized that keeping the title tag as simple as you can will increase your rankings for longtailed keywords. The days of putting as many keywords in your title tag as you can fit, such as “Emo layouts - Girly Emo Layouts, Boy Emo Layouts, Onemore emo keyword” is less effective as “Emo Layouts for your myspace profile”. With that last title tag it would look like this “Emo Layouts for your myspace profile” when searching for “Emo myspace layouts”. Looking much better then “Emo Myspace Layouts, Emo Layouts For Myspace, Myspace Emo Layouts

Example - Which one would you click on?

Google SERPs Example

So with my own tests over the last few months I have concluded that:
1. Keep your title tag to the point.
2. Dont put your website in your title tag.

Everyone knows that the title tag is a huge part of the on-site SEO. So does anyone else have any tips on the title tag? Let us know in the comments.

Are You Broke And Need Money? READ!
September 16th, 2008 by Jon Waraas

Advertisement

I have used this method before… when I used to be broke. I was making $200 a week off this while I was working at Home Depot. I also did this about a year ago when my roommate first moved in, he would design the site and I would program it. We made a few of them and that is how I learned how to make database driven websites.

The process is pretty simple, but takes time. What you do is buy a pageranked domain, build a website, let it sit, then sell it. Want more details? Keep reading…

The Niche Fool
Check out sitepoints sites for sale section, both the Premium Sites and the Established Sites for sale sections. Take a look at what everyone is commenting and interested in. That is were the cash money is at. For example, in the Established section it looks like computer related sites such as web directory’s, wallpaper, image hosting, etc are pretty popular with da newbs. You need to pick a niche that will make money and not take a long time to sell. And we all know what It means when a website takes a long time to sell… less Taco Bell. Point made.

Da Domain
This is the selling point. The fools on sitepont and digitalpoint love them their pageranked domains. The higher the better. You get a valid pageranked domain with legitimate backlinks. Its probably the hardest part of the whole process. You can find domains on sites such as SEO Domains, but the best place to get them is buy them off newbes on sitepoint and digitalpoint. They always seem to be selling decent domains and a decent price.

Getting the domain is pretty staight forward. Just be sure to put some time into finding a good domain. Remeber, the higher the page rank the faster the sale. The faster the sale the more Taco Bell.

The Bling’in Design
For the ROI you will be getting on this technique you will probably want to design the site yourself. Just take a premade design and pimp the crap out of it. It would be smart to team up with a designer and have them make a pimp design for the site. But remeber, the profit margin is low so you will want to try to find the cheapest solution to your designing needs.

The Content Baby
This is pretty important too. Content is the king. I personally would find a good database full of thousands of rows of content and make a database driven website. There are tons of places to find quality databases…. or you can make your own. Be sure to check out SeoCracy databases, the wallpaper one would be great because you can build a quality site and send adwords traffic to it and then market zango on the site. But thats another blog post.

Making The Site Legit
Before you spend you $20 and post your site on sitepoint or any of the other sites selling websites. Be sure to make the site as legit as possible. Sit on it for at least a week and build up those backlinks, use blog comments and dofollow social sites to get the site ranking fast for long tailed terms. The buy some dirty cheap (but shitty) at adengage. That will make it look a little more legit.

Be sure that you are happy with the site. If its some pile of shit and will never make money then don’t sell it. Your not in the business of ripping people off, your in the business in making turnkey sites that actually sell. Just be sure that the site isnt banned in google, has good content, good design, and is built well.

Once you get everything done and your happy with your site… sell it! You will spend anywhere between $20-$75 in making a website and then selling it for $200-$400 in less then 2 weeks. If you make 1 site a week at $200 you will make $800 a month. Which is pretty good when you need money fast.

Now I gave a lot of tips in that blog post, now make some comments below and ask some questions, ill help you out.

My Top Ways Of Gaining Backlinks
September 11th, 2008 by Jon Waraas

Advertisement

Since I’m not 100% in SEO anymore I will share a few of the ways I get my backlinks. First off I don’t consider my methods as blackhat SEO at all. I’m actually about 99% whitehat, but all that matters on your definition of a blackhat SEO person. My definition is someone who gain links using spamming. And I don’t consider blog comments, directory submissions, social bookmarking, forum posts, etc as spamming.

I am working on a detailed blog post on reviews of a bunch of different backlink-gaining company’s. I have a few that I will personally be using for all of my new sites. That should be out soon. I would love to link a few company’s that are great for the methods I use below, but you’ll have to wait for that blog post.

Ok, lets get started. Below are my favorite ways to gain backlinks:

1. Social Bookmarking
Just imagine having hundreds of quality sites that you can submit your site to to get some linkjuice… oh wait! Guess what, their are hundreds of sites that you can submit your site too! Now, get out your notepad, find your favorite dofollow social bookmarking sites and hire someone to bookmark those dofollow sites for you*. After a while the link juice goes down and down, so you will have to keep submitting your websites to the social bookmarking sites. Again, hire someone.

* TIP: Never do it yourself, you wont make any money. You need to hire someone. The way to become a SEO jedi is to find those niches were you can spend the money to gain the backlinks and still make money. But if you want to stick in the $xx-$xxx a day area then go ahead and bookmark them yourself.

Tip 2: Use the social bookmarking method with Keyword real estate.

2. Wordpress Themes
A personal favorite. Hire a good designer* and pay them to make a awesome looking wordpress theme. Put your link on the bottom and watch the links poor in. Have a niche site? Make the wordpress theme a niche based theme. If your site is about dogs…make a dog theme design. Then all those people who use free wordpress layouts that blog about dogs might use your theme, gaining you some quality links.

* Need a good designer? Contact me… I gots one…

3. Blog Comments
You knew I was going to mention it! I use them a ton, maybe its because I get them cheap? But I use this method to get most of my small niches ranked. It works great. Remember to use dofollow blogs. But nofollow works too.

4. Paid Links
There are thousands of people on digitalpoint and sitepoint that would love your 10$ a month in exchange for a quality backlink on there website. This is the method most of the SEO jedi’s use. Remember the myspace sites days? All of the people on the first page of google where buying there links. They where spending $4,000-$10,000 a month on links, and the #1 spot on google for “myspace layouts” was making the guy $5,000-$7,000 a day. <- SEO Jedi

Those are truly the only methods I use these days. I do have a few other ones up my sleeves and I will be telling you guys those later. Now I need more comments on this blog… so comment away! Comments are now dofollow…

Help Me - First 5 People Get 50% Discount
September 11th, 2008 by Jon Waraas

Advertisement

This past week I have been working with Paypals IPN (Instant Payment Notification). Now with Paypals IPN I can now have the orders put into my database/backend I made for BuyBlogComments.com. I used to email the writers every order, it was a pain in the ass. But lately I have been trying, with success, to teach myself php. About 2-3 months ago I built a backend that the writers could login and grab the orders at any time.

At first the backend was a simple page showing the variables from the database. Over time I added more and more shit to it such as an admin panel, a way to send emails to the clients (which was the hardest part to do correct), a sessions based login system, and now Paypals IPN will automatically put the orders in my database. Now all I have to do is login and process the orders. Which is simple, I make sure everything looks ok and then push a button thats says “Process Order” haha.

I am almost done with the backend part where customers can login and check orders, purchase more orders, and keep everything organized. Since most of my big customers are return customers, it will help a lot.

I should have that don’t tomorrow (which is actually later today, but I work at night). On Friday I want to test everything and make sure everything is running 100% smoothly so I can go on to working on other projects. Thats where this discount comes in. I will give the first 5 people a 50% discount if you help me test the system on Friday. It doesn’t matter how many comments you order.

If your interested, I will give you a check sheet of about 10-20 things that you need to make sure are working. Then just purchase your comments regularly using a discount code. Then you will have to list if everything went smoothly. If something went wrong such as an error then just email me what happen.

If your interested in this then please email me. The first 5 people that email me will get the deal. I will put about 2-3 people on the waiting list if one of those 5 people back out before Friday.

Help Me Get 1000 Readers!
September 7th, 2008 by Jon Waraas

Advertisement

Ok, I admit I have been getting lazy lately. The past month or so I have been pulling 10 hour days everyday working my ass off on my new projects. One of them has taken off and is pulling decent money, the other one is in the green but only making me about $2,000 profit a month. I have also started another projects, I am currently building up my SEO sites. With these new sites I changed my methods of promoting them. They will be 100% whitehat, won’t be interlinked, and will not be made public (in other words I wont be telling you guys). If you haven’t noticed I took down the network bar on all of my sites, and also the “Part of the Developer Hut, Inc.” on all of my new sites so there will be no footprints.

So lately I haven’t been working as much. But that will soon change. This month I want to hit the 1000 RSS readers mark on my blog. It will take work but I know I can do it. At this point I want to ask all the people who haven’t subscribe yet to please subscribe, here is my feed. If you haven’t noticed by now my RSS reader display jumped about 100-150 readers overnight. No I haven’t been cheating. I actually forgot to 301 redirect my wordpress feed to my feedburner feed. Once I did that I jumped about 125 readers overnight.

You can also see that I have made some changes to the design. I went from a single wide sidebar to a double wide sidebar. I personally think it looks way better this way. It also gave me more room to add some other shit like the recent comments and the flickr photo thingy. I still have a ton of more shit to do such as adding twitter, some design changes, rewrite my house page and about me page. That should all be done this week. Hopefully.

Anyways, for me to get more readers I need to post some better content on here. Thats were I need your help. What do you want me to post more about?

1. Posts about SEO
2. Personal posts
3. Posts about Abri
4. Other?

Let me know in the comments. Tell me what you want to hear and I will start posting more about that.

One more time, if you haven’t subscribed to my feed yet, please do that, help a brotha out.
